Playable party in Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter

Who fights beside Estelle in the demo, who joins later, and how their roles read before September 17.

Party Members

Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter is a single-player remake of Trails in the Sky SC. Estelle Bright stays. Joshua does not. Everyone else rotates in as the search for Joshua and the Society of Ouroboros pull the party across Liberl.

This page is a roster, not a damage table. Letter grades sit on the party tier list. Brave Rush and Enforcer Boost sit on the combat system. The seventh slot sits on the orbment guide. The Characters Hub points at Ouroboros separately.

Demo field versus later joiners

The free demo covers the prologue through Chapter 1: Rolent, Ruan, Grancel, and senior-bracer training at Le Locle. In that window you should expect Estelle, Scherazard Harvey, and Anelace Elfead as the names you actually control, with Zin Vathek and instructor Kurt Nardin around the lodge. Agate Crosner belongs to the Chapter 1 stretch, not the opening menu.

Olivier, Kloe, Tita, Kevin, and Josette are later-party conversations. Do not stall the demo waiting for a complete select screen. Route notes live in the demo walkthrough. New players should still start with Getting Started.

Estelle Bright

Estelle (Stephanie Sheh) is a senior bracer and the protagonist. Weapon: staff. After the Liberl coup and the Queen’s Birthday Festival, Joshua leaves; Estelle’s job is to find him and to keep taking guild work while she does it. In battle she is a generalist: she can hit, she can carry healing Arts if you build water, and she is the character you will Brave Rush with most often because she is always there.

Joshua Bright

Joshua (Johnny Yong Bosch) uses dual blades. Official bios also list him as Joshua Astray. He qualified as a senior bracer with Estelle, then vanished after revealing his past. He is missing for much of the early story. Do not plan a dual-blade opener for the demo. Original SC treats him as a fast physical specialist; until later remake chapters are in players’ hands, that is role identity, not a measured DPS claim.

Scherazard Harvey and Anelace Elfead

Schera (Michelle Ruff), the Silver Flash, fights with a whip and is the all-rounder Estelle leans on first. She mixes range, Crafts, and Arts, and she is the adult in the room when Estelle’s search gets messy. If you only upgrade one partner orbment in the demo, upgrade hers.

Anelace (Cassandra Lee Morris) is 18, recently promoted, and Estelle’s senior despite the personality gap. One-handed sword. Granddaughter of Yun Ka-fai of Eight Leaves One Blade. She loves cute things and does not hide it. At Le Locle she is the sparring partner and the physical carry while Estelle learns the senior-bracer desk. Her kit in original SC is craft-forward; do not assume she is an Arts battery just because she shares the field.

Returning 1st Chapter allies

Agate Crosner (Ben Pronsky), Heavy Blade, uses a greatsword and wants a straight fight. He is the Chapter 1 physical hammer and a poor first caster. Tita Russell (Brianna Knickerbocker) brings an orbal cannon, jamming, and recovery tools; she is twelve, fragile, and later-party. Kloe Rinz (Cristina Vee) is a Jenis student with a rapier and a strong Arts identity. Olivier Lenheim (Matthew Mercer) is the Erebonian orbal-gun bard who looks like comic relief and plays like a caster once quartz lines open. Zin Vathek (Vic Chao) is a Calvard Taito specialist with gauntlets; he appears around Le Locle before he is a long-term slot.

Availability is part of the kit: do not rank later joiners as if they were in the demo save.

Kevin Graham and Josette Capua

Kevin (Ray Chase) is a wandering Septian Church priest with a bowgun, an easy laugh, and a reason for being in Liberl that is not only Sunday School. In original SC he is a fan-favorite joiner: ranged Crafts, support, and enough Arts to cover holes. He is not a demo staple. Keep him on the later-party list.

Josette (later ally) uses an orbal gun and Arts. She is the youngest Capua sibling; Kyle pilots, Don leads, and the Bobcat crew still bickers with Estelle from 1st Chapter. She is a story guest who can fight, not a second protagonist.

How to assign roles before launch

Think in jobs, not in fake numbers. Estelle holds the formation. Schera covers range and Arts. Anelace and Agate hit. Zin holds a lane. Kloe and Olivier (later) own lines you do not want Estelle spending EP on. Kevin (later) is the flexible fourth. Tita and Josette are specialists. Joshua is a dual-blade hole in the early roster by design.

Quartz still decides whether those jobs stay honest. The remake expands orbments from six slots to seven. Put coverage on people who will actually cast. Details sit on the orbment page and the quartz tier list.

If you imported 1st Chapter clear data, Classic Style SC costumes for Estelle and Joshua are a visual bonus, not a combat unlock. See save transfer. Dates sit on the release-date page. Controls sit on controls.

Build the demo team around Estelle and whoever is actually in the field that hour, then park this page. After September 17, 2026, the same names will mean different kits, and that is the point of a remake roster: a living line, not a frozen poster.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for demo players and anyone waiting on the September launch.

Who is in the party during the demo?

Estelle, Schera, and Anelace are the names you should expect to control through the prologue and Chapter 1, with Zin around Le Locle and Agate on the Chapter 1 stretch. Follow the demo walkthrough rather than the full party tier list if you are still in the lodge.

When does Kevin Graham join?

Kevin is a later ally and a fan-favorite joiner from original SC, not a demo staple. Keep him on the later-party list on this page and check Updates after September 17 if you want remake-specific join timing confirmed in-game.

Should I bench Estelle?

No. She is the protagonist and the Brave Rush constant. Spend quartz on her first, then on Schera. Role math is on the combat system page; letter grades are on the party tier list.

Is Anelace playable or only a guild NPC?

Playable. She is a senior bracer, Eight Leaves sword, and a Le Locle partner. Read her section above and the Characters Hub if you need guild context around Kurt and the lodge.

Where do Ouroboros names belong?

They are antagonists, not party slots. Use the Ouroboros page for Enforcers and Enforcer Boost, then come back here when you pick who eats those fights.

Does save data from 1st Chapter change the roster?

Clear data unlocks Classic Style SC costumes for Estelle and Joshua. It does not add extra playable members. Setup is in the save transfer guide.
