Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter is the second half of Nihon Falcom’s 3D Liberl remake. It continues Estelle Bright’s search after Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter. The worldwide launch is scheduled for September 17, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam. Some Steam storefronts show September 16 because of timezone. Spoiler warning for 1st Chapter
2nd Chapter assumes you know how 1st Chapter ends. The Liberl coup, the roles of the Intelligence Division, and Joshua’s choice after the finale are treated as established fact. The demo’s prologue title, A Young Girl’s Decision, is already a pointer at that ending. If you have not finished 1st Chapter, stop here, play that remake, and come back. Importing 1st Chapter clear data also unlocks Classic Style SC costumes, so finishing the first remake is both a story choice and a cosmetic bonus.
This wiki’s beginner pages stay above Chapter 2 plot. They will name early regions, bracer training at Le Locle Canyon, and the fact that Ouroboros Enforcers appear in the trial. They will not walk later guest reveals as if you already saw them.

Choose a platform before you worry about quartz. The standard edition is $59.99 on PS5, Switch, and Steam. The Switch 2 Edition is $64.99. A Switch-to-Switch-2 upgrade pack is $4.99. Languages and voices
Steam lists English and Japanese full audio. Text languages include French, German, and Spanish (Spain), plus Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean. This wiki localizes English, French, German, and Spanish only. English voices you will hear early include Stephanie Sheh as Estelle, Johnny Yong Bosch as Joshua, Michelle Ruff as Schera, Matthew Mercer as Olivier, Ben Pronsky as Agate, Brianna Knickerbocker as Tita, Cristina Vee as Kloe, and Vic Chao as Zin. Anelace is voiced by Cassandra Lee Morris; she is 18, uses a one-handed sword, and is Yun Ka-fai’s granddaughter. Later names — Kevin, Mueller, Julia, Leonhardt, Weissmann, Renne, Campanella, Cassius — are listed on the party members and Ouroboros pages so this beginner guide does not turn into a cast dump.
Demo versus the full game
The free demo is roughly ten hours with no timer. It covers the prologue through Chapter 1 and visits Rolent, Ruan, and Grancel, plus senior bracer training at Le Locle Canyon. Fishing, poker, and cooking are in the trial. Viewer Mode and Movie Viewer are not. Demo patch 1.00.1 (August 26) fixed a fishing crash, restored Olivier’s English voice during his song, and cleaned miscellaneous bugs. Story progress, levels, and inventory can carry into the full game through a title-screen load or transfer. 1st Chapter clear data works on the demo as well as the full game. Do not delete those saves. Details are in the save transfer guide.
Combat in the trial already uses Quick Battle, Command Battle, Brave Rush, and early Enforcer Boost encounters. Read the combat system before you treat Quick Battle as an unskippable action game. Orbments have seven slots; confirmed Arts such as Blue Ascension and Sylpharion are listed in the orbment guide. Side systems — fishing spots, Attack Food, poker, Viewer Mode in the full game — sit on side content.

Play the prologue without rushing NPC talk in Rolent. When the first Enforcer appears, swap to Command Battle and spend Brave Gauge on purpose, not by accident. After you are comfortable, skim the party roster and the party tier list so guest join-ins are not a surprise.
