Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter Confirmed Arts and the seventh slot

A pre-release ranking of official Arts and slot value — not a leaked remake catalog.

Quartz Tier List

This is not a datamine. Falcom has confirmed that Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter upgrades tactical orbments from six quartz slots to seven, that individual slots can be enhanced for superior quartz, and that the new high-end Arts include Blue Ascension (Water), Sylpharion (Wind), Abyss Fall (Time), Lost Mobius (Space), and Zodiac (Mirage). This page ranks those facts. It does not paste the original Trails in the Sky SC synthesis list and pretend the remake already published every name.

For how lines unlock Arts, start with the orbment guide. For who should wear which job, use party members and the party tier list. Combat timing sits on the combat system page. Parent notes sit on the Tier List Hub.

S — the seventh slot itself

The extra slot is the highest-value change in the remake’s orbment story. 1st Chapter boards had six holes. 2nd Chapter adds a seventh and lets you upgrade slots so higher quartz can sit there. That is coverage, support, and a way to finish a line you used to abandon.

Spend the new hole on something the character could not do on six slots: a missing element toward a listed Art, an EP-cut or cast-speed piece so Arts actually fire, or a defensive quartz so Estelle survives Enforcer Boost. Do not seat a second copy of the same offensive quartz because the menu had a spare.

Slot upgrades matter as much as the hole. Official text is clear: enhancing a slot is what lets superior quartz in, and superior quartz is what unlocks the stronger Arts. If you are still in the demo, upgrade the slots on Estelle and Schera first. They are the people who will still be in the party when later boards arrive.

S — confirmed closer Arts

Until Falcom publishes a full remake Art list with costs, treat the named five as the top of their elements, not as five identical buttons.

Blue Ascension (Water) sits at the top of the water conversation: it is the name Falcom put first, on the same page as the seven-slot upgrade. Water is also how you keep Tear-style healing in the family. On a pre-release list that is S: damage identity plus the element you already want on someone.

Lost Mobius (Space) is the Space closer. In Trails, Space is how you hit a problem that physical lanes cannot. Rank it S as a reason to finish a Space line on a caster who will live long enough to cast it — Olivier or Kloe in later chapters, Estelle only if you are deliberately turning her into a second battery.

Zodiac (Mirage) is the Mirage closer. Mirage in this series is rarely “more fire.” It is the odd status, the information, the fight that stops being fair. S as a unique job, not as a third AoE.

A — confirmed line finishers

Sylpharion (Wind) and Abyss Fall (Time) are still confirmed high Arts. They sit in A only because the other three cover jobs you feel every chapter (heal element, wide Space hit, Mirage trick). Wind and Time still matter. Wind is movement, impede-adjacent play, and the Arts you want when enemies clump on roads. Time is delay, the resource Enforcer Boost tries to steal from you.

If your demo board can finish Wind on Schera, do it. If it can finish Time on anyone who will actually cast, do it. A-tier here means “build toward them,” not “ignore them.”

How to think about the rest without a fake catalog

Original SC players remember families: Attack, HP, EP, EP Cut, Action, Mind, Hit, Evade, and later gem-tier pieces. Do not treat that memory as a remake item list. Costs and names can move. Use the idea, not the spreadsheet.

Three questions beat a copied FAQ:

  1. Coverage. Does this quartz add an element the character is missing toward a real Art, including the five Falcom named? If yes, it is probably better than a raw stat chip.
  2. Support versus damage. Estelle can carry Tear-style water and still Brave Rush. Agate usually wants to hit. Schera can do both. Kevin, later, can patch holes. Match the quartz to the job on the party list, not to a global “Attack is S.”
  3. Cast tax. An Art you never fire because EP or delay is wrong is a C-tier trophy. Pair damage lines with whatever the remake uses for EP comfort and cast speed once those quartz appear in your factory list.

Highway packs want AoE. Enforcers want delay and not eating unavoidable hits for a full Boost window — see Ouroboros. Side materials sit on side content.

Demo spending order

In the prologue through Chapter 1, you will not own every closer. Buy the cheap pieces that let Estelle and Schera function: survivability, an element toward an Art you can actually cast, and one speed-adjacent quartz if the factory offers it. Leave Lost Mobius theory for the character who will still be in the party in later chapters.

If you imported 1st Chapter clear data, costumes are not extra slots. See save transfer. Menus and inputs sit on Getting Started and controls.

Spend sepith on coverage first, vanity last. The seventh slot is the remake’s loudest mechanical promise; use it to finish a line, not to park a duplicate Attack quartz because the menu had a spare hole.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for demo players and anyone waiting on the September launch.

Which Arts are confirmed for the remake?

Blue Ascension (Water), Sylpharion (Wind), Abyss Fall (Time), Lost Mobius (Space), and Zodiac (Mirage). How lines unlock them is on the orbment guide. This page does not invent the rest of the catalog.

Is the seventh slot better than any single quartz?

As a pre-release grade, yes: it is the extra hole plus slot upgrades. Put it on Estelle or Schera first. Party jobs are on the party tier list.

Can I copy an original SC quartz guide?

Use it as a memory aid, not as a remake shopping list. Names, costs, and chapter gates may differ. Stick to confirmed Arts here and mechanics on the orbment guide.

Who should chase Blue Ascension?

Someone who will cast water anyway — often Estelle or a later Arts specialist. Do not force it onto Agate if his job is to swing. See party members for those jobs.

Does Enforcer Boost change quartz priority?

It makes delay, survival, and not whiffing Arts more important than a vanity closer. Read Ouroboros and the combat system before you empty the factory on one damage line.

When will this list add more quartz names?

After the September 17, 2026 launch, when the in-game notebook is public. Until then the Tier List Hub stays pre-release on purpose.
